Transport, logistics and warehouse recruitment for Australian employers

CrossNation recruits truck drivers, forklift operators, warehouse staff and logistics coordinators for Australian employers. Licence class, not job title, decides who can do the work, so we record each candidate's licences against your vehicle and equipment list before we shortlist. You interview and choose.

What employers ask

What to know before you start

Which licence does the vehicle need?

A heavy vehicle licence is needed to drive a truck over 4.5 tonnes gross vehicle mass. Victoria, for example, issues five categories: light rigid, medium rigid, heavy rigid, heavy combination and multi combination. Higher classes need minimum driving experience, so a candidate's licence history matters. Put the exact vehicle configuration in your brief and we will screen on licence class rather than on title.

What about forklifts and high risk work?

Operating a counterbalanced forklift, the most common type, needs an LF class high risk work licence in Queensland, and high risk work licences cover forklifts, cranes, hoists and reach stackers in Western Australia as well. Licences are issued state by state, so ask candidates for a current licence and check interstate recognition for the state where they will work.

Why do medical and fitness rules matter?

The driver licensing authority in each state and territory manages the health assessment rules for commercial licence classes, according to Austroads. Employers of commercial drivers should know the rules for their state and set out any fitness and medical checks in the offer. These checks are the employer's and the regulator's, not a recruiter's.

What do the ABS numbers show?

Transport, postal and warehousing had 9.5 thousand job vacancies in August 2026, against 10.5 thousand a year earlier, with a six-quarter range of 9.2 to 10.7 thousand. It is one industry group across freight, postal and warehousing, so it is a market signal and not a count of driver jobs. Tell us the roster, the depot and the equipment, and we will say what we can shortlist.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Can you find truck drivers with a specific licence class?

Yes. Give us the vehicle configuration and we will record each candidate's licence class and history against it.

Do forklift operators need a licence?

Yes. Operating a forklift needs a high risk work licence, and the class and rules are set by the state regulator.

Can you recruit warehouse staff who are already in Australia?

Yes. Candidates with work rights can be checked before interview.

What does logistics recruitment cost?

Our fee is 12% of the candidate's annual salary and applies only if a placement succeeds, and each placement carries a 90-day placement guarantee. Wages, superannuation, licence or medical checks you require, and vehicle or equipment inductions are separate costs.

Can CrossNation sponsor an overseas driver?

No. The employer sponsors. Licence recognition sits with the state licensing authority, and the occupation rules sit with Home Affairs and your migration agent. This is general information, not migration advice. Speak to a registered migration agent.
