Award pay rates calculator for aged care, nursing and health professionals

Choose an award classification and see the minimum hourly rate, the minimum weekly pay and the super on top of it. Rates are read from the Fair Work award text, including the SCHADS Award, and apply from 1 July 2026. They are minimums for ordinary hours, last checked 3 October 2026.

Minimum weekly cost

Source: Aged Care Award 2010 [MA000018], clause 14.3. Rates from the first pay period starting on or after 1 July 2026.

  • The award prints a weekly rate only, so the hourly rate is the weekly rate divided by 38, as the award directs for part-time and casual employees.
  • Rates are the award minimums for ordinary hours. Penalty rates, overtime, shift loadings, allowances and leave are not included.
  • Superannuation is 12% of ordinary time earnings (ATO super guarantee rate).

How is the cost worked out?

The minimum weekly rate and hourly rate come straight from the award table for the classification you choose (the clause is shown with every result). The only arithmetic is what the awards prescribe: a part-time or casual employee is paid 1/38th of the weekly rate for each ordinary hour where the award prints no hourly rate, and a casual employee receives a 25% loading. Superannuation is added at 12% of ordinary time earnings.

Nothing here is an average or a market rate, and nothing is specific to CrossNation candidates. Many jobs are paid above the award or under an enterprise agreement. This is general information, not legal or employment advice.

Calculator questions

What are the SCHADS award pay rates?

The Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Industry Award [MA000100] sets minimum weekly wages. For home care employees in aged care, level 1 is $1,239.00 a week and level 6 is $1,541.90 a week. Social and community services employees at level 2 pay point 1 have a current wage of $1,376.49 a week ($36.22 an hour) once the equal remuneration order is applied. Rates apply from 1 July 2026.

How does this calculator work out the cost?

It takes the minimum rate the award prints for the classification you choose. Where the award prints only a weekly rate, the hourly rate is the weekly rate divided by 38, as the award directs for part-time and casual employees. Casual employees get a 25% loading, and superannuation is added at the super guarantee rate.

Does the calculator include penalty rates, overtime and allowances?

No. It prices ordinary hours only. Penalty rates, overtime, shift loadings, allowances and leave are extra, and so are costs such as workers compensation and payroll tax. Use the Fair Work Pay Calculator for a specific shift.

Does CrossNation charge for this calculator?

No. It runs in your browser and what you enter stays there. If you accept analytics cookies, we record only that the calculator was used and which award you chose. CrossNation's recruitment fee is 12% of the candidate's annual salary, with a 90-day placement guarantee, and is separate from the wage cost shown here.
