Cleaning, facilities, security and administration recruitment

CrossNation recruits cleaning supervisors, facilities staff, licensed security officers and office administrators for Australian employers. Security work is licensed state by state, so we record each candidate's licence against your site before we shortlist. A placement through us is a direct hire.

What employers ask

What to know before you start

What belongs in a facilities brief?

Give us the site type, the shift pattern and the tasks, and say whether the role supervises others. For security work, name the licence class the site needs. For office roles, name the systems and the volume. These roles are often filled quickly, so a precise brief that includes the pay you offer makes the shortlist usable sooner.

What licensing applies?

Security officers must hold a licence from the regulator of the state or territory where they work. Supply of workers is regulated separately. South Australia licensed labour hire first in five industries, including cleaning, and now covers all industries. Victoria's Labour Hire Authority publishes security guidance and says a business supplying workers to a labour hire provider must also be licensed. A direct placement differs, but check your own arrangement.

What do the ABS numbers show?

Administrative and support services, the ABS industry group that includes cleaning and security, had 26.1 thousand job vacancies in August 2026, against 27.4 thousand a year earlier. The six-quarter range was 26.1 to 28.7 thousand. It covers more than these roles, so use it as a market signal.

Who sets the pay?

Awards for cleaning, security and clerical work set minimums, and enterprise agreements are common on large sites. Check which award covers the role on the Fair Work Ombudsman list and price a roster with the Pay Calculator. Superannuation is paid on top.

Tell us the role, location and start date

The fee is 12% of the candidate's annual salary, charged only when a placement succeeds.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Do you supply casual cleaners by the shift?

No. CrossNation recruits permanent and contract staff who become your employees. Shift supply is a different service.

Do security officers need a licence?

Yes. Security work is licensed by the state or territory regulator, and the class depends on the duties.

Which award covers cleaners?

Often the Cleaning Services Award 2020 [MA000022], unless an enterprise agreement applies.

What does cleaning and security recruitment cost?

Our fee is 12% of the candidate's annual salary and applies only if a placement succeeds, and each placement carries a 90-day placement guarantee. Wages, superannuation, uniforms, equipment and site inductions are separate costs, and security licence fees sit with the worker or employer as agreed.

Can CrossNation sponsor overseas staff for these roles?

No. The employer sponsors. Whether a cleaning, security or administration role is eligible for sponsorship is a question for your registered migration agent and Home Affairs. This is general information, not migration advice. Speak to a registered migration agent.
