Position Purpose

As an Auto Electrician, you'll be the go-to for all things electrical across a wide range of vehicles and machinery. Your position involves installing, diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining the electrical components of road transport (both on and off the highway), agricultural and earthmoving equipment, boats, cars, buses, caravans and trailers.

Main Tasks

Core objectives include:

• Ensuring all electrical repairs are performed in accordance with company guidelines and within cost targets
• Installing new electrical systems and components in vehicles
• Identifying and diagnosing issues with vehicle electrical systems using digital diagnostic equipment
• Repairing or replacing faulty wiring, electrical components and systems
• Performing routine maintenance on electrical systems to ensure they are functioning correctly
• Gathering information from customers about issues with their vehicle's electrical systems and providing estimates for repairs
• Completing all relevant paperwork related to the work performed
• Follow OH&S guidelines to ensure a safe and compliant work environment — because safety first, always!

Required Qualities

• In-depth understanding of modern vehicular electrical systems
• Proficiency in using electrical diagnostic equipment to identify and resolve issues
• Strong problem-solving skills to troubleshoot complex electrical faults
• Attention to detail
• Be able to work unsupervised and as part of a team
• Able to use initiative
• Able to follow OH&S requirements
• Experience with modern vehicle electrical systems

Qualifications

• Certificate III in Automotive Electrical Technology or equivalent
• Air Conditioning Accreditation
• Drivers Licence
